Long Island’s Riverhead Raceway has set its 2021 NASCAR Advance Auto Weekly Racing Series season to start on May 1, 2021 with 7 divisions of racing. The divisions include: Tour Modified, Late Models, Crate Modified, Blunderbust, Super Pro Trucks, INAEX Legends and the Figure 8s.
The second week of the season sees 2 new features to Riverhead’s racing card making their debut. The INEX Bandoleros, a division that is geared to the under 16-year-old racer, and The Riverhead Triple Crown Series.
The Triple Crown Series is three designated races that will provide the winner the designation of the Triple Crown Champion. The Super Pro Trucks, Create Modified, Street Stocks, Figure 8, Mini Stocks, INEX Legends, and Late Models will all have three Triple Crown Races, each. The Tour Modified will have four races that make up the Crown Jewel Series. These races include the July 3rd 71st-Year Celebration: 71-lap race; the July 31st Baldwin/Evans/Jarzombek Memorial 77; August 28th Bubba 100; and the November 13th Islip 300.
Riverhead will host 26 days of racing in 2021, including NASCAR Modified Tour Races on May 15, June 19, and September 18. The track will be open for inspection on April 3 and April 10. There will be two days of practices on April 17 and 24 before the May 1 opener.
